I’m Lotte, a mother of two and I know what it is like to juggle work, life and screens.

During the pandemic, my daughter got an iPad. Two parents with full-time jobs, a newborn and a toddler at home and a closed daycare. The screen brought a moment of calm. A break.

But when the pandemic faded, the iPad stayed. It became part of everyday life. Then I started reading headlines: too much screen time harms children’s eyes. That hit me. I started digging. The numbers were terrifying: 74 million children today could be suffering from severe vision loss or even blindness if the current trend continues. Seventy-four. Million. Children.

But why is nothing being done?

It turns out, there are solutions. Scientifically proven ones backed by the World Health Organization. Simple habits like the 20-20-2-rule can protect children’s eyes dramatically.

Why isn’t this rule known by every parent?
Why don’t we hear about it at consultatiebureaus, schools or pediatricians?
Why isn’t it on every box that holds a tablet?

It’s simple. It’s proven. It could prevent blindness in millions of kids.

There are tons of apps out there for limiting screen time. But let’s be honest most of them create battles. Tears. Frustration.

This has to change.
This can change.

And that’s how Viewy was born. A positive, playful app that empowers kids to make healthy screen choices themselves.

We want a world where children can explore, play and see.
No blurry future.

Welcome to Viewy.
